My kids are very active and they always love to run around. You cannot have them sit even for just a minute. They also love to meddle help me or my mom back in the Philippines whenever we are doing something. They like helping folding clothes, sometimes even washing clothes, cleaning the house by getting our broom and sweep the floor (funny coz they don’t know how to pack away their toys), and more. Since then, my mom and I trained the kids to do some household chores and assign something to them. Now that we are here in America, my husband was always asking me to give the kids something to do to help me with the household chores. My kids are willing to do whatever I ask them to do but sometimes they are moody. There were times that they will not pay attention to you especially when they are doing something like playing as usual.

Here are the things my kids can do so far:

set the table or help set the tableput away toys/things
help make bed
dust
put laundry in hamper

fold the clean laundry

help put dishes in dishwasher
help wipe up messes
help clear table
help put away groceries

See, even a 4 and 5 year old kids can do so many things if you let them and train them. In this way, they can be able to learn new things and they can be able to do things without our help.

Missing My Grannies

Grannies in the house is always a good thing. Grannies are always there to guide the parents how to become a good one and at the same time, you can count on them in taking care of the kids when parents are out. Grannies are so loving to their grand kids more than how they their own kids. I can tell that coz I live with my mom’s parents in the province for more than 6 years. They are the ones who took care of me and provided most of my necessities that my mom can’t providethat time. My grannies are very loving to me, they are very protective and most of the time spoiler. I miss my grand father, he’s always been sweet to me. He taught me a lot of things and inspired me in many ways. I was so sad he passed away two years ago. I was aiming of helping him in his medical expenses but I wasn’t able to do that. The last time I made him happy was few days before he died, we visited him in the house and stayed for only a day after we had our vacation in Pagudpud. He was very happy withe the expensive milk I bought him. He even drank a lot of it before he died maybe because he knows he’s gonna leave soon and he wanted to spent the most of it. He is really a great grand father! I miss him very much especially when I am seeing grannies in different  senior living communities. I am so happy he saw my kids before he passed away. My kids are lucky to see their great grand father.

LION KING 3D

We almost missed LION KING 3D last week. It was showing two weeks ago and ended last Thursday so we watched it last Tuesday. My kids had fun watching it in 3D, my daughter IShi is crying as usual with some sad parts and they were giggling to those funny moments. Lion King is such a good movie even it was an old one. I remember watching this when I was first year high school.

Breastfeeding

I am so lucky that I had a chance to breastfeed both of my kids when they were babies. I didn’t expect that I would be blessed to have sufficient milk supply for my kids, especially for my 2nd child who had been breastfed for more than two years. It was a proud feeling for a mom like me, that I have given my kids very special nutrients and antibodies that every baby needs. I pity the moms who are not breastfeeding for very shallow reasons, like they don’t want their breasts to get saggy.  For me, I don’t really care much more about it. The important thing is that, I gave my babies their needs. And besides, technology is very high tech now and there are plenty of ways to get your breast back into their original shape. There are breastforms or breast augmentation as options, right?

We all know that Breastfeeding is very important to our babies and also for us moms. First, we must not forget that breastfeeding reduces the risk of breast cancer, uterine and ovarian cancer. It also reduces the chance of having osteoporosis. Another reason is for moms that don’t want to get pregnant so soon after. Breastfeeding also delays ovulation. Another fact that based on research is that breastfeeding can lessen postpartum anxiety and depression. Aside from those, you will not worry about your bloated body after giving birth because breastfeeding  can help you lose weight. Most importantly, you don’t need to buy expensive formula milk. Breastfeeding help you lessen your EXPENSES! So why not breast feed your babies?

Thursday Surprises

My kids a had a wonderful day last Thursday even the daddy is not feeling well, he managed to bring the kids to school, fetched them and attended Spirit night at Chic-Fil-A. I called husband’s sickness a blessing in disguise because if he was not absent from work yesterday, we weren’t able to see the smile on Ishi’s face when she saw her Daddy at the school bus drop off when she get off from her school bus. She was surprise it was her daddy waiting for her infront of the house. After few minutes, we all picked up Ethan and same with Ate Ishi, Ethan was also happy and surprised when he saw me and his sister when daddy picked him up.

Both of our angels were very surprised and very happy that day plus Ishi was also surprised when she saw some of her classmates during Spirit Night at Chic-Fil-A.

Shopping for School Supplies

Shopping for School Supplies

A few weeks before classes started, my kids and I were busy preparing the things they’ll need for school. I wanted enough time to shop for their supplies, and I was literally panicking because I felt were so late with our shopping.  To my surprise, when we went shopping for preschool supplies, the mall was so quiet and laidback. You wouldn’t even think that students and their parents were abuzz because school is about to start again.

I actually wanted to shop for the supplies early because I thought that the mall would be jam-packed. I guess I’ve been accustomed to the way most people back home did their school supplies shopping that’s why I overreacted. Most of the people back home have the unfortunate habit of putting off their shopping up until the last minute. Actually, it’s something that happens not just during the opening of the school year, but also during the Christmas season.

I didn’t know, or I guess I never took the time to find out, that here, shopping for school supplies is something to look forward to. I had fun buying stuff for my kids although my list was not too long. There were just a few miscellaneous items we had to buy, but most of the school things were provided by the school.

I am so addicted shopping online, not for myself but for my Kiddos!!!

I always love to shop stuff for them if I have the resources. I love to shop clothes and toys and now, a stuff for their room since they have their own room now. Look what I bought 2 weeks ago – a table and stool with storage. Got this from Wal-mart online, Ishi’s table is already ready for pick up same with the book rack but Ethan’s table wasn’t arrived yet so we are waiting till the orders completed.

I can’t wait to get them! I can’t wait to set my kids’ room into more like a study room. To motivate them to do their assignments and projects. Will post soon the actual photos when all the products arrived and set!

Wishing For Another Baby?

Last year I was asking husband if can have our third baby since my youngest is already 3 years old that time. He refused. He said we cannot afford to have another baby at the moment. I understand that. I know it’s hard to have more kids especially when he is the only one earning for the family. Of course I have my part time job but it is not permanent and it can’t help much of our expenses. Pregnancy is also very expensive. You have to go to your OB monthly, buy vitamins, not to mention the repeatedly ultrasounds and tests. The last time I got pregnant and that was to my son, I almost have miscarriage due to stress so I had to take medicines that are very expensive to save the baby. I quit my job and stayed at home. That’s the time I started to become stay at home mom. And also that’s the time I enjoyed being a SAHM (stay-at-home-mom). Hospitalization is the second thing that is very expensive. Good thing I delivered all my kids normally. My OB said I will deliver my first child thru Cesarean section but I prayed so hard not to let that happened coz that was damn expensive! After giving birth, the third part of the expenses is infinite! This is the time when the baby is out and you are about to start the expenses till forever. This is the most exciting in my part. To buy stuff for my kids especially baby and mommy stuff in Aden and Anais shop! I love the different baby clothes and even the Aden and Anais Swaddle! I love buying the feeding bottles even I am breastfeeding them. I love every small items for babies! They are so cute! And when they started to grow bigger you will become addicted to toys! If you are going to peep at Melissa and Doug toys, you will agree with me! And then after that you will no longer counts your expenses! School finances, clothes, hospitals and more are always coming your way! But despite of those expenses, I believe that having another baby is one of the best things that I will do to my life! I will surely have one more baby soon!

I Love my Kids Teachers

I Love my Kids Teachers

My eldest ws studying for more than three years now. She entered nursery when she was 2 and half years old as saling pusa and then finally became Nursery in Montessori and finished up to Kinder1. It’s her 4th school year now and she is turning 6 on November. All of those years, I never met a teacher of her that I don’t like.  All of her teachers are great. All are very loving and caring to kids as expected and my kids love them too. I understand how hard it is to teach coz I am a teacher before and I experienced how hard it is.You are like a single mom with dozens of kids! Not to mention their different characteristics, different likes and weaknesses that are very hard to handle alone. I am so grateful that my kids have wonderful teachers as they are and as a token, I always made sure they have some token to receive. Some simple gifts for appreciation is always in my list during christmas and their birthdays. I wish I could do it again this year, I have no idea what to buy them but there are lots of options for teacher gifts online that’s why I don’t have to panic. I stil have time. I hope my kids’ teachers this year will continue being good and kind and patient to their student.

My Daughter’s Request

Husband is implementing ‘reward’ system with my kiddos. He is giving them toys in exchange of good behavior. My kids got their first reward on the first successful week of class. My kids behaved properly, went to school without problems and so they got a surprised reward! Daddy bought them to Toys R Us and have them choose what toy they want so they chose – Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head of Toy Story.

My kids are very happy that time so the daddy talked to them and made sure that he will get another reward maybe on their birthday or on Christmas when they continue their good behavior. My kids started to tell their dad their wishes. My son said he wants to have Evil Doctor Porkchop and Rex from toy story and complete the gang. My daughter wants Barbie and Ken which is in Toy Story too, and a big doll house like ken have in the said movie. The daddy was shocked by the daughter’s request and he seem to be in trouble, lol. He asked me if we can share and buy that on her birthday and I joke around and said, you can buy that on your own coz that is cheaper than breast implants! I told him that because our friend once told us that they have know some kids here in US requesting for that gift after graduation in high school! Imagine a 15 or maybe 16 year old girl given a boob job gift by her parents? Oh well, back to my topic, daddy laughed at me when I told him that but he is still insisting to share with me.
