The Power of Facebook

The Power of Facebook

Who would have thought that Facebook would turn out to be a portal of just about anything? When it first started, its aim was to connect people – long-lost friends, families, relatives – and to help people meet and make new friends. However, Facebook has evolved into something more than that. It’s become a voice for societal causes, a marketplace, and a worldwide social community. You can even get your hands on a few discount coupons like ProFlowers’ Facebook coupons. All you have to do is visit ProFlowers’ official page in Facebook, and you’ll see many links there that lead to discount pages on their company website. If you’re lucky, you could even get a 20% discount from your orders.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

“And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch of their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.”

Advancements in Technology Benefit Hospitals

Advancements in Technology Benefit Hospitals

The advent of technology is really proving to be advantageous to numerous sectors of the government. New computer systems have made lives easier for people who work at courthouses, police stations, banks, and even hospitals. In hospitals, most especially, you would see the big improvement when it comes to patient charting. Years ago, doctors and nurses made do with literal charts organized in steel folders. Now, though, mobile computer workstations can be set up in a patient’s room. This allows doctors and nurses to go over the patient’s records seamlessly and immediately. This is really a grand improvement in the scheme of things inside hospitals.

Holiday Rush

Holiday Rush

Everybody seem to have plenty of time for christmas no matter how busy they are in work. They still got the time to go to different shopping malls to buy gifts for their love ones! Some are busy booking their travel vacation and some are just doing their normal routine.

I love Christmas, it’s the time of  sharing, giving, making people happy! I also love the environment and all the wonderful decorations in most places.  My favorite during this season  is shoppng. Every stores have their trade show booths in most of the malls, with complete  banner stands, bright lights and loud sounds to attrack buyers to show their crazy offers!

Aside from these things, the most important thing that I love during this season is when all of the family are gathered together, eating dinner with nice and new table skirts, candle lights and yummy foods. I promise to do this year with my family even we were far from homw and far from our loveones.

JOBS ONLINE

JOBS ONLINE

I started browsing for a job today, there were lots of jobs listed in different agencies online. Most of them are part time only for Christmas is a peak season. The only full time jobs I saw were Medical Assistant Jobs and store associates. I wish I had Medicine degree but I don’t, I am BS Psychology graduate so I am not entitled with medical jobs. Store Associate is okay with me as but I am hoping for higher pay so I have to look for a better job right? I am looking for a part time teaching profession or HR career and hoping I could find one before my EAD (Employment Authorization Document) get approved. I really wish and pray I could get my working permit before new year comes!

Watch Movie Peacefully with Headphones

Watch Movie Peacefully with Headphones

Now that we have a big Television, the noise is all over the house. We live in a small apartment and we can’t avoid not to make noise in the entire house. If somebody wants to watch TV, everybody can hear it no matter where you are in the house. Sometimes even I wanted to watch something in my computer, I am being distracted with the TV when the kids are watching or playing. I can barely hear what I am watching. Thanks to my best around ear headphones it will not hurt your ears even if you use it for several hours. My husband is using a headset too when he’s playing in the computer and the kids are watching TV even we were already advised by an ENT to not use a head phones due to some hearing loss. But this kind of headphones that we are using are not other headphones that is stressing.

Job Hunting

Job Hunting

I stopped hunting for job ever since I received the USCIS  DEINIED decision for my EAD ( Employment Authorization Document) last month. I was so devastated, I didn’t expect I will be denied due to some insufficient documents (which is not specified). I was so confident I gave every requirements needed for that document unfortunately I was wrong. I just discovered that I neglected some page of my Passport. I guess it’s my fault so I tried to apply again after I received this decision. My husband paid $380 again  and submitted new documents and this time with complete pages of my passport. I am really hoping this time there’s no more mistake and will have my document soon. While waiting again,  I will continue my job hunting again. I am excited to have a job this coming new year. I am hoping I could be able to help my husband with our expenses this soming new year and save some for the future.

I saw plenty of jobs being offered online and the most popular are the electric engineer careers. I wish I am an Engineer graduate but I am not so I better be looking in line with my degree or anything that suits me. I can be a teacher, a party host or an HR or office staff . The truth is, I can accept any kind of  job that’s available and or any job that will come my way first.

May God help me with my journey this coming  year 2012, I am sure there’s something new and good awaits me!

Competitive Pricing

Competitive Pricing

Contribution by Kennith Griffin

Every year around the end of the year, I sit down and go through our family’s finances. I look at what we spent over the past year and it’s always interesting to see where our money has gone. I average what we spend on all the services we have per month and then go online to see where we can save money. Some things like gas and electricity are hard to find savings on when there is only one company providing the services in your area. Other things like television, telephone and internet providers are competitive and negotiable if you take the time to research them. For example, I was able to lower our monthly phone bill by $10 a month last year. While $10 dollars a month may not sound like much, that’s $120 a year! This year I am hoping to find some better prices on out television service. I’ve seen commercials for prices much lower than what we are currently paying and plan to do the research online then call each company to see what the best deals they can offer are. I’m guessing I can shave off at least $20 per month, if not more!

House Cleaning Service

House Cleaning Service

Sometimes I am thinking of offering my services to some of the people I know as part time job.  Cleaning services has a good pay. I saw how  raleigh house cleaning service charge one house to clean and I am so amazed! So I started thinking about doing it too. What if I really offer services to my neighbor or friends? Cleaning is not that hard anyway, but how can I clean other’s houses if I myself can’t clean my own house? Oh well, I guess I am not for that kind of job. I’d rather crochet or sew than clean a house.
