Finally, My Own Small Business

I have recently made my Etsy store available to the public. I only have a few items on sale as of yet, but I will be adding new items in the coming days. It’s actually one of my dreams – to have my own online business. I can say that it is a labor of love, because the items I’m selling in the store are all handmade. I crocheted the beanies, scarves, and ponchos that are part of my shop’s inventory. I also designed the hair bows that I’m selling in the store.

This is a first for me, so I’m taking baby steps as of the moment. Eventually, I plan to make the shop bigger, perhaps adding more and more items along the way. I’d probably apply for a business grant, so I’ll have enough to fund my business. Several companies here that offer small business grants, and I’d probably apply for one.

I just need to find out what the eligibility requirements are, since I heard that the requirements vary from company to company. It may take me a while to find the perfect company to help me. Nevertheless, since this is my business and it’s something I’ve always wanted, I will be very patient and try my very best.

People can amass a lot of stuff over the years. Sometimes, some of these eventually turn into junk. Junk in the sense these no longer have a place inside your house, and so the tendency is to pile these in your garage or storeroom. You can only imagine how much wasted money has gone into these items. So instead of letting your junk rot, why not put these to good use? There are companies that actually haul junk. Usually, these companies call themselves the junk removal companies, and one example is The Woodlands Junk removal that handles the removal of junk from various places such as offices, homes, retail locations, and construction sites.

The company will haul your junk and ensure that the items are disposed of properly or that these get recycled or donated somewhere. Therefore, the items won’t really go to waste. To tell you frankly, a small pile of junk is starting to build up in one of the rooms here in the house. Thankfully, there’s no need to call a junk removal company as of yet. At least I now have an idea which company to call in case the junk becomes too much to handle.

Moving To A 3-Bedroom Apartment

My husband wants to move to a new apartment after our 1 year contract here in our current apartment. He wants a bigger one with 3 bedrooms so my kids will have their separate rooms. I agree with his idea, I always wanted to have each of them their own room.

Our community is nice so I guess moving to another unit is the only thing that we are going to do if there’s an available one soon. I love this community, it’s well maintained, a No Smoking area, near the main road, school and market and also with spacious streets and parking lots. No Smoking is the most important thing for me, it’s rare to find an apartment like it. Cigarette smoke is not good for kids health so I am glad smoking is not allowed here unless int’s an electronic one.

Being near everything you need in important too,  you don’t have to rush  everyday to go to school coz it’ just 15 minutes away from our place and so with the mall and market. I also love this community being spacious, my kids can run around in the grass and play without worrying about their safety.

I love shoes. As a matter of fact, I’m crazy over shoes. I’m actually planning on buying fashion boots in time for the season. Unfortunately, I haven’t had the time to go to the mall for the sole purpose of shopping for boots. The last time we went to the mall, there was a flurry of activities, so I wasn’t able to drop by a shoe store to browse for some great finds.

Actually, if you were to ask me, I think I would rather buy the boots online. Aside from the traffic and mad rush in keeping with the season, most of the shoes I see in some stores are all irregular. An irregular choice means broken sizes, last pairs, last colors, and other stuff that would really frustrate you if you are an avid shoe shopper like me.

Imagine spotting a pair of really cute keds shoes and then finding out that it’s three sizes bigger! Kind of makes you want to scream right? That’s highly impossible if you buy online since through online shopping, you’ll have access to various brands, designers, styles and even sizes that can’t normally be found in local shoe stores.

But if you do decide to shop online just like me, do take note of the shipping charges that will be added to the cost of your purchase. Second, read the fine print regarding the store’s policies about returns and exchanges. Finally, ask how long before the product gets delivered to you.

My Kid’s Room

My kids room are better than before now. I just added some wall decors to make it more colorful. I used my kids photos, lay out it in ABC pattern with some designs and hang it on their wall. My angels love it coz their silly and cute photos were there, there are 26 letters in an alphabet and there were more than 26 photos being displayed. They love my idea of putting an Alphabet with corresponding adjectives. That’s all I can do for their room right now. We can’t buy morestuff for their room yet like bedroom furniture los angeles coz we were not sure if we are gonna stay longer here in US after daddy’s contract. We were hoping for the best but since we are not certain yet, we can’t invest more furniture as of the moment.

Some people might know that this site is no longer MY LITTLE ANGELS in AMERICA and now LIFES MEMOIRS ONLINE from it’s original Domain name. I officially bought a new DOMAIN for my little angels in america so that it will have the same name with the domain. My little Angels in America is a personal site exclusively for my angels obviously, everything about their daily experiences was there and actually a children and parenting blog. Now that I moved them to a new domain, life’s memoirs online will gonna be more on anything under the sun or what they called general blog.

I am hoping the old visitors here will still visit this site and sometimes visit the new one. I am trying to improve My Little Angels in America site so my kids will love it when they started to read. Just to give you an idea how it looks, here’s the screen shot of the site.

Did you know that there is an even better way of straightening crooked teeth? That’s a treatment that doesn’t make use of metal, as is the case with tooth braces. The treatment is called Invisalign technology. Unlike braces, Invisalign can be removed when you’re eating or going to sleep. Basically, you will wear an aligner tray made of smooth, comfortable, and virtually invisible clear plastic over your teeth. These aligners will gradually and gently shift your teeth into place, based on what your cosmetic dentist planned for you. It’s the latest technology in teeth straightening and I guess my husband should see this coz he really needs this. 6 years ago his mom, my mother in law asked him to visit a dentist and have braces but he refused because he loves eating and he doesn’t want anything in his mouth that will affect his appetite. This is a perfect technology for him. I have no idea how much it is but if you want to find out more about it, you can simply visit a San Antonio Invisalign clinic to ask how the treatment is conducted and how much it costs.

There was an old Mel Gibson movie entitled Forever Young. I think it was released sometime in 1992. I remember watching it, and even if it wasn’t as explosive as other Mel Gibson movies, I really enjoyed it. The movie began in the year 1939 showing a young and reckless test pilot, Captain Daniel McCormick, played by Mel, of course. Anyway, his girlfriend falls into a coma and because he was desperate, he insisted that his friend put him on “suspended animation” inside the cryogenic equipment his friend “built” so he wouldn’t see his girlfriend die.

His frozen body was discovered 53 years later, in 1992, by two rowdy boys. He explains to them what happened, and the boys actually believed him. They tried to keep the truth from one of the boy’s mother, but when Mel’s character started showing signs of aging, they had no choice but to tell the mother the truth.

It worked well because the mother helped Mel locate the daughter of his friend, the one who built the equipment. Through his friend’s daughter, he learned that his old girlfriend survived her coma. So finally, an aged Mel Gibson locates his old girlfriend. They are now of the same age, but he still asked her to marry him and she accepted.

Pardon me. I am a sucker for romantic movies, and this is one movie which I will never forget, perhaps for as long as I live. The story was poignant and shows just how lasting true love is.

Halloween Here and There

Two weeks have passed since Halloween, and most of the treats my kids collected are almost gone. The sure had a blast. The holiday was a lot different here than it was back home. Far different. Here, kids gear up in their best costumes and go around the neighborhood giving homeowners all but two choices. The famous declaration every last day of October, that is, “Trick or Treat”. Once the treats have been collected, kids rush home to start ransacking their loot bags, while their parents hie off to a party somewhere. But back home, although going around the neighborhood is something that children do, too, the main event is visiting the dearly departed in cemeteries.

I remember that when I was younger, I always looked forward to that day each year when the whole family would go to the cemetery where our dead loved ones are buried. I was always excited because I would get to see my cousins and other relatives. The day of remembering becomes a reunion of sorts. But as I got older, I became more involved with the activities, which included cleaning the memorial stones and making sure they looked spiffy. Of course, I also started offering heartfelt prayers for my departed relatives and paused to do some serious self-contemplation.

You probably know someone who is always hesitant to attend special occasions that required her to dress up. I know quite a few women who are apprehensive about such occasions, and some of them were even trying to convince themselves that they shouldn’t get married or hook up with a guy just because they heavily tilted the scales. Pretty lame, don’t you think? Well, we can’t really blame these ladies.

Skinny celebrities who grace magazines and strut their stuff on TV are enough to push the confidence levels of plus size women way down. It’s quite sad, actually. Weight shouldn’t be a hindrance. I think these plus size dresses do a wonderful job of letting women feel good about their own skin.
