I mentioned before that My kids applied for their ITIN as a requirement for husband’s TAX refund this year. Unfortunately they were declined due to some reasons in line with the TAX REFUND thing. So now we need to re apply again for kids’ requirements in school. I think this is really required as it was in the list of the requirements. I need to file this one but husband is so busy and he can’t bring it to the office so I guess i’ll have it send via postal. I think  ITIN or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number is very important. kids can get this anytime as long as they are eligible for an ITIN before they can get their SSN. They are totally different. In SSN you can get benefits like loans or social security disability benefits while ITIN is used to pay your taxes though SSN is also used to pay taxes if you have one already. Now that’s confusing! I am not sure whats the differences yet but we really need to get our kids an ITIN first.
