How To Make a Home Made Edible Glue

How To Make a Home Made Edible Glue

I have no complete school supplies at home, as much as I wanted to buy, I can’t add it up yet in our tight budget. Need to do something about it if possible without spending some money for it. I told my kids I will be making some glue so we could use it when we do some activity next time.  And so mommy made some glue:

It’s just simple, all you need are:

Photobucket

1 table spoon flour

1 teaspoon cornstarch

1 teaspoon sugar

1/2 cup of water

1/2 teaspoon vinegar

Just do the following steps to make a safe, non toxic glue for your kids:

1. in a bowl, mix the flour, sugar and cornstarch

2. in a saucepan boil the water

3. slowly mix the water to the combined flour, sugar and cornstarch while stirring it

4. put the vinegar into the mixture then place it again in a medium heat

5. keep stirring until it thickens

6. cool the glue and put in a container (I used an empty butter container)

Making your own glue is another way of saving mother earth, no toxic at all. Even small kids can use it coz even if they accidentally put it in their mouth, it’s totally safe coz it was made edible. I putted some sugar in it because sugar can create a nice smell of the glue while vinegar serves as a preservative so it would last long. You can refrigerate it if you want.

I showed it to my kids and told them, ” we have our glue now!”, Ishi replied “wow! next time mommy gawa ka naman ng pencil”(next time please make me some pencil), LOL. It’s funny that Ishi thought I can do anything instead of buying it. I wish I know how to make a pencil but I don’t so I told her that I can’t make it coz we need some machines to make it.

I guess I really have no choice but to buy PENCILS then. :D

Mommy Moments : Black and White

Mommy Moments : Black and White

mommy moments

I was thinking of what to share today about our theme – black and white. I immediately thought of a document coz that’s what I know about black and white. I paused for a while and think again…browsed my album thinking I could be able to see something black and white, then I heard my kids talking while peeking in the window. “Ate, ate, si little foot oh” ethan said while pointing his tiny pointer in the sky then Ishi immediately said “ay yun naman parang rabbit oh!” . Since I cannot think what to share, I joined them and looked at the sky too, they were looking at the clouds through our window and imagining creatures shaped by the clouds. And so I started naming some too…..then I suddenly realized, it’s already a mommy moment. Playing out of nowhere with my kids is a black and white moment where both of us brightened each other’s day. I enjoyed my kids’ simple yet imaginative game, it’s relaxing.

Family Photoshoot

Family Photoshoot

We were planning to have our first ever family portrait this year, it’s been more than a month now and we still haven’t have our official photo hanged on our wall. Yearly during December, we were having our family photos in great image studio unfortunately we didn’t able to do it last year coz daddy wasn’t with us. So now, husband and I were planning to have our photoshoot maybe next month when were ready. Yeah, when I say when were ready that means when we have money for the photogpher’s talent fee, Lol. It will cost us 100 dollars for unlimited shots with 10 edited soft copy of different poses, so we have to get ready for that first. Another thing is the location, we were planning to have it in parks like there’s a lake and play area in it. There’s actually  problem with the parks for there are many parks in here but we still have to look for the best, right?  Lastly, we need an outfit. NO not a costume… what I mean is a matching outfit! For the past years, we always have this matching outfit  when having a pictures. Not actually a matching outfit that is so identical even with the fabrics, matching colors is fine with me and we don’t have it yet. I bought some funny shirts before we get here but those were just for couples, for daddy and me and it’s color black. I don’t think black is a good color for kids so I am planing to get them some white funny shirts like what we have. Oh, I am so OC! I really have to prepare for these things now so we could have our family pictures already!

House Decorating Plan

House Decorating Plan

Since we just moved in here a month ago, we were still in the process of investing. We don’t need to invest in appliances yet coz the apartment we got was fully furnished. We all have our gas range, microwave oven, washing machine, beds, couches and even carpets were already set.  But our still look so bare. We don’t have television yet so what you can see in our living room is our couches and tables and the computers. I wanna hang some picture frames already but I was just waiting to have our latest family picture this year. I also need something like etagere. We need plenty of those, for the shoes behind our entrance door, one for the kids room for their books, one in our room too for some of our gadgets and other stuff and maybe one of those bathroom etageres too so I could put some of our toiletries stock there.

I love this one – Shogun Etagere

I wonder when can we start buying those if we still have so many line ups of bills! :D
